‘Govt family’: Rahul’s jab at PM Modi over ‘nepotism’

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused the BJP of hypocrisy when it comes to ‘parivarvad (dynastic politics)’. Rahul alleged that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has on numerous occasions dismissed the sacrifices of Congress leaders as ‘nepotism‘, the portfolio allocation on Monday saw the distribution of power to a ‘government family‘.
“Those who call the tradition of struggle, service and sacrifice of generations as nepotism are distributing the will of power to their ‘government family’,” the Congress MP said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“This difference between the words and actions is called Narendra Modi,” he added.
Along with the post Rahul shared a list of 20 cabinet ministers whose relatives previously held positions in central or state governments.
